MADI works in partnership with local schools to identify children who have been waiting for an NHS autism assessment and whose families would otherwise be unable to afford a private diagnosis.

 

1. School Referral

 

Our partner schools identify children who would benefit from an autism assessment and meet our eligibility criteria. Because schools know their pupils and families best, they play a vital role in ensuring support reaches those with the greatest need.

 

 

2. Eligibility Review

 

Each referral is carefully reviewed by MADI to ensure it meets our funding criteria before an assessment is approved.

 

 

3. Assessment Funded

 

MADI fully funds a comprehensive private multidisciplinary autism assessment with one of our trusted specialist clinical partners.

 

 

4. Diagnosis & Recommendations

 

Families receive a detailed diagnostic assessment and, where appropriate, a formal autism diagnosis together with practical recommendations to support their child at home and in school.

 

 

5. Ongoing Support

 

Families are signposted to appropriate post-diagnostic resources and support, helping them understand their child's needs and access the services available to them.

 

By working through trusted school partnerships, we ensure our funding reaches the children who need it most, while providing families with access to expert clinicians and life-changing assessments that would otherwise be beyond their financial reach.
